Recent credits include the Theme Music for 20/20 (ABC; co-composer) and Theme Music Package for Good Morning America (ABC; co-composer), the Theme Music for Focus Earth with Bob Woodruff (ABC/Discovery Channel; co-composer), additional music for the Warner Brothers Pictures feature Mama’s Boy (starring Diane Keaton), the score for the indie feature The Rise And Fall Of Their American Dream (Nash Productions), music for the film Forget Me Not (directed by Federico Castelluccio), additional music and orchestration for the film Room Service (starring comedian Howie Mandel), and the theme/score for the 3-Part Award-Winning documentary Dance School: Juilliard (The Documentary Channel; co-composer), among numerous others.
Currently John composes for Ah2 Music in Los Angeles, which provides music for popular TV network series such as Celebrity Apprentice, Beauty and the Geek, and The Biggest Loser, and DreamArtists Studios in New York. He has previously freelanced for Heavy Hitters Music (LA) and Elias Arts (LA/NYC), as well as The Lodge, So Loud Music, and Propeller Music in NYC, among others.
John recently worked with American Composers Orchestra as a resident instructor/advisor for the “Film Music Factory” program in NYC. Additionally he worked with legendary TV composer Mike Post, and continues to serve as a judge/advisor for the BMI Foundation Pete Carpenter Fellowship (since winning in 2006).
Music for the CONCERT STAGE
John’s award-winning concert music is programmed frequently by leading musicians and ensembles, including major premieres at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, and La Schola Cantorum in Paris. His orchestral music has been programmed extensively throughout the United States, including performances with The Pacific Symphony, The Haddonfield Symphony, The Chamber Symphony of New Jersey, The Yale Philharmonia, The New York Youth Symphony, among others.

John has received awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, ASCAP, BMI (concert music and TV/film), Meet The Composer, the American Music Center, the Yaddo Corporation, the American Composers Forum, and the Barlow Endowment, among numerous others.
EDUCATION
A graduate of The Juilliard School [Doctor of Musical Arts], John also earned degrees in composition from the Eastman School of Music and Yale University. He studied with Pulitzer Prize winning composers Christopher Rouse, Joseph Schwantner, and David Del Tredici, as well as with American Romantic David Diamond.
