ABOUT JOHN KAEFER

John Kaefer has been hailed by critics and audiences for his imaginative scores for film and television, as well as for his creativity as a composer of chamber, choral, and orchestral concert works. His busy career has been highlighted by numerous awards and a growing list of important credits and commissions.

Recent credits include the Good Morning America Theme Package (ABC; co-composer), additional music for the Warner Brothers Pictures feature Mama's Boy (starring Diane Keaton and Jon Hedder), Room Service (starring comedian Howie Mandel), among numerous others. He currently composes for Ah2 Music in LA, which provides music for popular TV network series such as Celebrity Apprentice, Beauty and the Geek, and The Biggest Loser, and DreamArtists Studios in New York, where he serves as Creative Director. Previously he freelanced for Elias Arts, The Lodge, So Loud Music, and Propeller Music, among others. Additionally, John worked with legendary TV composer Mike Post.

Music for the Concert Stage
John's award-winning concert music is programmed frequently by leading musicians and ensembles, including recent premieres at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, and La Schola Cantorum in Paris.

Awards In Composition
John has recently received awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, ASCAP, BMI, Meet The Composer, the American Music Center, the Yaddo Corporation, the American Composers Forum, and the Barlow Endowment, among numerous others.

Education
A recent graduate of The Juilliard School [Doctor of Musical Arts], John also earned degrees in composition from the Eastman School of Music and Yale University.
